Balearic Islands

Probably the most visited group of Islands in the World by British and Irish holidaymakers. Majorca, Menorca, Ibiza, Formentera make up the Illes Balears.

Beaches:

The Balearic Islands’ crystalline waters and almost three hundred beaches boast all types of services and offer unparalleled variety that ranges from beaches to untouched coves.

Sport:

Golf: Another sport that is increasingly taking root in the islands is golf. The Illes Balears are quite a paradise for golf lovers: the bid to attract winter tourists anxious to play the "green sport" has led to a proliferation of golf clubs; at present there is a total of twenty five top flight clubs, twenty two of which are in Mallorca, two in Ibiza and one in Menorca.

Nautical Sports: Never has it been said better: Nautical activities are the figurehead on the prow of an archipelago devoted irredeemably to the sea.
Nautical competitions are the high point of the sports calendar. A number of sailing regattas of well-earned international prestige are disputed in its waters. The Princess Sofía Trophy, the King's Cup and the Almirante Conde de Barcelona Trophy in Mallorca, the National Almirante Ferragut de Snipes Trophy in Menorca, Ruta de la Sal and International Sailing Week for Cruise Ships in Ibiza are just some of them. To find out more about the complete network of nautical installations along the 1428 km of island coastline, visit the Balearic Islands nautical portal . Cycling: The Balearic Islands is the ideal setting for cycling, be it professional, amateur or simply as a way to enjoy oneself on a means of transport that allows the surroundings to be admired to the utmost. The preseason training that several professional and amateur teams carry out in the islands is proof of the top-quality infrastructures that translate into hotels that cater to these visitors, among other services.

Island Shopping: The same diversity that the Illes Balears offer at a cultural level is also evident in crafts. You can buy arts and crafts in glass, ceramics, embroidery, fabrics, shoes, leather, silverware, trinkets, jewellery, pearls, all the latest trends in fashion and all those things that artists from round about have introduced alongside the traditions of the Illes Balears.

Cuisine: The traditional cuisine of the Balearic Islands, originating from a flourishing fishing industry and seasonal crops, long before the commencement of the tourist boom, is very rich and varied.

There's the typical frit mallorquí , coques (made of vegetables or trempó , etc), caldereta de llagosta , a Minorcan lobster speciality, where there is also oliaigua amb figues (figs), cuscussó (a Christmas dessert of Moorish origin), the formatjades of Easter, gin, etc. Ibiza with its flaó (cheese with herbs), and the fish salad of Formentera. And these are just a few of the culinary delights to be savoured during a visit to the Balearic Archipelago

Tourist Information: Tourist Information Offices are the most effective way to gather information about the places you wish to visit. Main offices on each island and a complete municipal network of offices in tourist areas are at your disposal for information and advice during your stay or while preparing for it.
